In order to get rich you have to do 3 things: 1) Live below your means for a long time (BUT live in style and comfortable so you don't feel the urge to overspend). 2) Learn about emerging markets and invest your extra capital and play the long term game understanding your investments 3) Put time and money into yourself and your network.
