BREAKING: As of today, Minnesotans with or without insurance can buy Eli Lilly insulin for just $35 for the next 5 years. Learn how at MNinsulin35.org. I'm so proud of this settlement deal and all it will do to help so many Minnesotans afford their lives. #insulin4all
The scientists who discovered insulin in 1921 sold the patent for $1 because they wanted to save lives, not get rich. Drug companies went the opposite route, increasing the price of insulin by over 1,100% between 1990 and 2020. So, the state of Minnesota sued those companies.
@AGEllison Doesn't that violate monopolies and illegal trusts? Will it put other producers out of business in Minnesota?
@AGEllison You have been able to buy insulin at Walmart for $25 for the last twenty years. So thanks for nothing.
@AGEllison Insulin costs $4 a vial to make. $35 is still robbery. Why only 5 years? Is it expected to get more expensive. Cowardly Keith wants us to pat him on the back for because he is going to rob us less.
@AGEllison Thank you, this will benefit so many people who need this life saving medicine!
