ALLFIE outraged as @GOVUK announces plan to create more special schools: “Our Government must stop shutting Disabled people out from mainstream education and put an end to inequality in education for Disabled people” @michedaley #ALLFIE #InclusiveEducation allfie.org.uk/news/allfie-ou…
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley Is this referring to Mental, Learning, or Physical disabilities?
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley On the surface level many people think that it is not possible to have #InclusiveEducation but even a little thought can provide so many solutions on how we can take special care of these students without segregating them.
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley I don't think they should have disabled schooled. In High School (mine anyway) we had a science building. A building just for science. I think that disabled kids should be included in "regular" school (The fact that I had to say 'regular' says there's something wrong....
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley .....but I think it'd be a good idea to have a building just for disabled kids. When they're learning, during a part of the day the regular students could come in and help them and it could be something that students take to get college credit. Like taking an elective.....
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley ....but to have schools JUST for disabled people? It sounds like schools for blacks.....and schools for whites. Segregated. It ain't right. I think they should be included in school. Not "regular" school just. School. That way they could still see their friends and people would..
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley ..learn how to work with the disabled. I have a disabled brother and I see people meet him and they aren't sure hot to interact with him. Let's not separate the disabled but have electives for people to help them and learn how to interact with them. Let's create 1 society. ❤️
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley Interesting comment by Emma Watson .
@ALLFIEUK @EmmaWatson @GOVUK @michedaley What's wrong with special schools where children with special needs can have those special needs better catered for? Isn't this also better for children in standard schools, where resources are already stretched, not having their teachers stretched even further?
