I think, with Luna, OpenAI might be either breaking even or losing money for each query. I think the main aim of keeping the price so low is basically to kill any companies that aren't reaching the frontier. A shitty thing to do, but nonetheless.
How did OpenAI make GPT 6 Luna this good? GPT 6 Luna: under a penny Claude Fable 5.1: $1.67 Claude Opus 5.5: $0.90 This is the cheapest model in the world and it's good.
Developers still think of AI as a coding assistant/tool, so of course whatever model is better at that will be classified as the best model. Though that's such a narrow way to look at it, and Astra is clearly better on many more different metrics than Opus 5.5.
@thsottiaux Was it Internal Slack, or the fact Opus 5.5 mogged Astra ?
seems that opus fixed the awful thinking problem, 5.5 is a great improvement
Damn, im in love with Opus 5.5. Its the best model ive ever used, has such a good taste, is comparatively quickly, smart and finally precise instead of verbose. As good as Opus 5.5 is, I'm incredibly excited for Fable 5.5. After switching completely to Codex, I now have to go
iron giant
Tesla Optimus. ???
I think they will IPO. They will eventually burn through capital and the only way to continue to get that kind of capital is through public markets. Now what happens when they eventually dilute a whole lot more of their capital? Early investors might want to sell. That could get problematic. Eventually the vast majority of the equity will be owned by public markets and index funds of a money-draining company. Now that I think about it maybe he's not so wrong in that regard and nationalisation could be a strategy or the only way out
BREAKING: Palantir's Alex Karp says OpenAI will never IPO. His theory: nationalization is the only real exit. When asked what the S-1 risk factors look like, Karp's answer was simple: there is no S-1. The liability exposure from frontier AI is so large that no public market
I haven't seen this translate into model releases becoming more frequent per lab. Obviously they have become more frequent because of the amount of labs releasing new models but frontier labs don't seem to be releasing frontier models at an increasingly rapid pace. Maybe I'm wrong.
OPENAI HAS LARGELY AUTOMATED TRAINING OF NEW EXPERIMENTAL AI MODELS OpenAI’s internal AI models can now handle much of the process of building and training experimental models, including writing GPU kernels and optimizing the code used to run them. Researchers can reportedly
If I can't afford the body can I still get the hand???
Unitree Introducing: Unitree Dex5-S Dexterous Hand 22 Degrees of Freedom 1:1 Real-Hand Size👋 Precision biomimetic dexterous hand, price from $6.5K (Tax and Shipping cost excluded), with all 22 joints supporting smooth backdrivability, and each joint equipped with limit impact
Grok 4.7 dropping today???
🚨 Grok 4.7 looks to have been called through the xAI API via Hermes A new Hermes PR says xAI’s authenticated model catalogue exposed "grok-4.7" with reasoning variants low/medium/high/xhigh Just drop alreadyyyyyyyyyyy
I’ll believe it when I see it
Opus 5.5 will make you feel Astra is even more expensive and this might be the first time Claude model would feel cheaper than GPT while giving similar performance apparently Opus 5.5 is expected to be priced at $4 input / $20 output which makes it cheaper than Astra as well as
Grok 4.7 better be good. With the delay and the other models coming out this week. I have a feeling it will be a disappointing release.
🚨 4 new models are coming this week!! - Gemini 4 - Opus 5.5 - Grok 4.7 - GPT-6 Sol Which one will come on top??
And yet neither of these has come to fruition.
En un mes hemos pasado de "la IA nos va a quitar el trabajo" a "la IA nos va a quitar la vida"
If the US is to ban Chinese humanoids, what is stopping China from stopping selling rare earths for US humanoids?? Is this not an issue lol???
Got to uni, studying EE. Classes start tomorrow. Really excited.
I think somehow Anthropic may have fallen behind. They were ahead with Fable but now Astra has come out and OpenAI seems to have a much better model currently in the works. I don't see Anthropic having any decent counter to this.
The world doesn't work in exponentials. With increased capabilities comes an unequal distribution of power, capital, and ability.
The world is still planning linearly for an exponential decade.
Why are we getting a new Opus model before a new Fable model?
Apparently we are getting Opus 5.5 on Tuesday And it might be better than GPT Astra 6??
Astra could have possibly derailed Anthropic's IPO. They urgently need to release a new model.
Apparently we are getting Opus 5.5 on Tuesday And it might be better than GPT Astra 6??
Isn't this the shit from Diary of a Wimpy Kid?
A robotic hand that walks away on its own fingers! 🪬 We finally have the Thing from Addams family in robotics, and it was developed at ETH Zürich. No wheels, no legs bolted underneath, no separate drive mechanism. The same fingers that grasp things also carry the hand across
