Rory is sharing that the challenges we face with assessment, its still subjective and involves calibration. Establishing baseline is needed.
Now participants are taking part in doing assessment by viewing clips and seeing where it is on the level of Bloom's Taxonomy. #ASLRT
Blooms Taxonomy's 6 levels: Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating & Creating. Use those levels to determine assessment
Rory is introducing Bloom's Taxonomy to connect with comprehension assessment. Bloom's Taxonomy has 6 levels that can assist w/ assessment.
The focus of Rory's presentation will be on two levels of assessment; Expression and Comprehension which are most critical. #ASLRT

Training for teachers and ASL specialists along with integration of ASL proficiency measures with reading is very much needed too. #ASLRT
For future directions we need to consider dissemination of reading & assessment materials. #ASLRT
Sam's sharing benefits using ASL gloss: shared orthography & spelling w/English. Reading standards are followed & skills explicitly taught.
So Sam is pointing what that what we need is explicit reading instruction. He is sharing his experiences in that arena. #ASLRT
Sam pointed out that Deaf Educatyion scenario often focuses on "Deaf"norms, not ASL norms, thus creating invalidity... #ASLRT
