Only ~1/3 of Americans believe Trump did something illegal in the hush-money case. But when you take Trump out of it and ask about the substance of the charges -- whether it's a crime to "to pay someone to remain silent about an issue that may affect the outcome of an election" -- as many as 7 in 10 have said that's a crime. washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/…
I think if you phrase the question honestly, 95% of anybody would say it's pretty trivial, if it is a crime. And what if it wouldn't affect the outcome of an election, even if it's a politician? As in this case.
@AaronBlake That would be mildly interesting if he were charged with that. What is their opinion if you describe the actual charges in this case, it leave Trump out?
Dude. What do you think non-disclosure agreements are FOR?
@AaronBlake Also do you really think that with what the voters already knew about Trump (most specifically the Access Hollywood tape) that a Stormy Daniels dalliance would have "affected the outcome of an election?"
@AaronBlake The Hunter Biden laptop was collusion social media, FBI, DOJ, and CIA for Cripe's sake, to quash evidence of influence peddling that WOULD have affected the election. That's a little worse than a two-party non-disclosure agreement. Give it up. The people see through it.
@AaronBlake When is the Bill Clinton trial?
Might it be the fact that Bragg turned a misdemeanor, on which the statute of limitations had run out, into federal crimes like some sort of legal alchemist, which has Americans skeptical, @AaronBlake. You want to argue the crime and ignore the egregious violation of legal ethics on the part of the prosecutor.
@AaronBlake The Honker took that poll, and of course he knew it was about Trump. That push poll is invalid from the git-go, misrepresenting the facts on several issues.
@AaronBlake @PaxNostrum Well that's the purpose of a trial for the evidence to bubble to the surface.
@AaronBlake It turns out that people don't think deeply, considering that *anything* may affect the outcome of an election. This would make all NDA settlements by any politician, ever, a crime.
