From a safety perspective it's always crucial during outbreaks to maintained situational awareness. If I didn't check radar I'd probably have no idea I was pinched in between two tornadoes from two different storms. I bailed west here and back north towards i80 after this
@AaronRigsbyOSC Felt similar to my situation in Nebraska. But my west option was screwed and my east and south most of the time. Because they kept building south and west of me…
@AaronRigsbyOSC Do those people in Underwood and Neola realize just how fortunate they were today? Yes. Yes they do.
@AaronRigsbyOSC Damn we were in the same area at the same time. Stayed west of underwood just in case of a random occlusion and then pursued the southern storm.
@AaronRigsbyOSC I'm glad your bringing this point to light. I've always wondered why more people, "weather aware" folks or not, don't refer to radar more often especially on a day severe weather's expected.
@AaronRigsbyOSC Couldn't agree more. It isnt just the number of chasers out these days that all but ended my 22 years of chasing, but it is all the young and inexperienced chasers with absolutely NO intuition, situational awareness, or common sense. I pray they stay safe out there.
@AaronRigsbyOSC I had to do this also with the wedge that had gone through Elkhorn approaching Blair. Initially I thought I'd have enough time to get to Blair and cross the highway across the river. Got halfway and noped out of that and went back south then over onto I-29.
