The IMF projects 3.1% global growth and 4.7% inflation for 2026. AI investment supports some economies; energy importers outside the tech value chain face a tougher outlook. Forecasts, not guarantees. imf.org/en/publication…
Could bank savings rates slow stablecoin growth? A BIS study found higher deposit rates preceded slower stablecoin growth, especially for $USDC. It doesn't establish reduced bank deposits or lending. bis.org/publications/w…

Who is accountable when a financial firm uses AI? The FSB's new guidance emphasizes clear responsibilities, human oversight and third-party risk management. A practical framework—not proof that firms have implemented it. FSB, Oct 15: fsb.org/2026/10/sound-…
US retail and food-service sales rose 0.8% in September. The catch: that figure isn't adjusted for price changes. More dollars spent doesn't automatically mean more goods bought. Census Bureau, Oct 15: census.gov/retail/marts/w…

A stablecoin crosses borders. Who handles the crisis if it fails? The FSB says one country alone may struggle to assess the risks. Fast payments still need coordinated oversight. #Stablecoins fsb.org/2026/10/global…
Fixed supply still depends on sound code. XRPL disclosed a flaw that could create XRP beyond its supply rules. It was patched in September; developers report no evidence of exploitation on public networks. What should a good security disclosure tell users?
The XRP Ledger fix for a payment engine overflow took effect on each server as it upgraded, with no amendment vote. The disclosure report says that is a first for a transaction-processing change deliberately shipped this way since amendments were introduced more than 10 years
