A sales demo can drift into a tour of every feature. Your listener needs help making a decision.
Name that decision, then show only the screens that support it. Keep detail ready for questions.
A focused conversation is enough. Try it on your next call.
Rehearse your pitch once with an interruption.
Ask someone to stop you after the problem slide. Answer their question, then reconnect it to the next point.
A useful pitch can survive a conversation.
An unexpected question does not need an instant answer.
Pause. Clarify what is being asked. Give the part you can support. If you need to check a number, say so and agree on a follow-up.
Credibility includes knowing what to verify.
You do not have to feel perfectly calm to give a useful presentation.
For your next rehearsal, choose one manageable goal: a clear opening, a deliberate pause, or a strong closing sentence. Build from there.
@valerioamirani Good point, Valerio. Starting a deck is a much more useful signal than an upvote. I’d also want to know whether someone gets through a first rehearsal and comes back for their next presentation. Appreciate the practical advice.
Today we launched Aitho on Product Hunt. It's for anyone who presents from slides: your script follows your voice, your slides move on as you speak, so you need no clicker and nobody waits for "next slide, please." I'd love honest feedback, good or bad:

@LauraLoumd Thanks, Laura! That’s exactly the idea: keep your attention on the audience and let the slides follow along. Happy to connect 🙂 What kind of presentations do you give?

Tomorrow is launch day for Aitho on Product Hunt.
If you tried it early and sent us feedback, thank you. If you haven't yet, bring the deck for your next talk and see whether it keeps up with you.
This Thursday, Aitho launches on Product Hunt.
If you present from slides and want your script to follow your voice and your slides to keep up, it's free to start.
We'd love honest feedback more than anything.
Question for anyone who presents for work:
What's the hardest part for you? Losing your place, the clicker, remembering what to say, or the questions at the end?
Genuinely asking. It shapes what we build next.
If you speak too fast when you're nervous, you're not alone.
Two things that help: mark a pause after every key number in your script, and rehearse at the pace you want, not the pace you feel.
Pauses read as confidence to the room.
You don't need to memorise a talk word for word.
Memorise the structure: the opening line, the three points, the closing line. Keep the rest as notes you can glance at.
Word-for-word memory is fragile. Structure survives nerves.
A speaker loses their place. What helps backstage?
Agree on a discreet cue before the event. Rehearse the handoff so nobody has to improvise it under pressure. A pause can be part of the plan.
Producers: what recovery cue has worked well for your speakers?
Aitho, the AI slide teleprompter for presentations, in 46 seconds:
Script follows your voice. Slides advance as you speak. Questions get a private draft answer from your own material.
Web, iPhone and Android. Free to start.
For your next project update, try this opening:
"Here is what changed, why it matters, and the decision we need."
Then use the slides to support those three points. Put the detailed background where you can reach it during questions.
Build note: Aitho now works from your AI assistant.
With the Aitho connector, Claude can create a talk from your deck, write a speaker script per slide, and attach your Q&A documents (Presenter Pro). Then you open it and present.
Preparing a research talk? Practice explaining one finding to someone outside your field.
Try: the question, the evidence, the limitation, and why it matters.
Use presentation support during rehearsal; check the rules before using it in an assessed talk.
Rehearsal tip that works with or without any app:
Write down the three questions you're most afraid of. Answer each out loud, twice, before the day.
In Aitho you can put those same questions to the private copilot while you rehearse.
