And of course, let’s not forget: the Greeks had slaves, so the classic go-to is ὦ μαστιγία! This one is hard to translate cleanly, because literally it’s “whip,” but you can aim for something like: “you deserve a flogging!” Memorize it. Use it.

A harsher option, with a spiritual edge: ὦ κατάρατε! “O cursed one!” For extra conviction, you can even wave a fist.

Since these are our first posts, let’s start with a trump card: “Guide: Swearing like the Ancient Greeks.” We swear — they swore. In a way, we’re inheriting the tradition.
