@DavidGHFrost There are thousands of unsellable McCarthy Stone retirement properties waiting for older people to Downsize to and release family homes. @andyburnham please legislate to force buy back and remove service charges for services that a deceased person cannot use.
@moving_charlie @AngelaRayner @andyburnham What about empty retirement homes that won’t sell because of the disgusting business models of the vultures who build and manage them? Please help us when we inherit them. Sort out the retirement housing providers who prey like vultures.
@mtpennycook @mtpennycook legislate to force companies like @McCarthyandstone to buy back and stop service charges of £1200+/month on deceased estates. Restore confidence in the retirement housing sector, encourage older people to downsize & thus release family homes to young families.
The petition wording is set by Parliament. our goal is to raise awareness of a serious issue in retirement housing. Families should not be liable for service charges on empty apartments. McCarthy stone should be. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7704… @AngelaRayner @andyburnham @tessamunt
