@JimHHartsell I lost my son a few years ago. He was 51 laid down to take a nap and never woke up. The hardest thing I’ve been through. A parent should never loose their child Sending hugs and prayers to your family 🙏

@snowyxq1 I have done it and it broke my heart. If I had to do it again. Yes most definitely would do it again. Pets are part of our family.

Dolly Parton wears the most famous rhinestones in country music. Long before she could afford them, she washed her hair in a freezing Tennessee river using soap made from pork fat and wood ashes. She grew up in a cramped, one-room wooden cabin in Locust Ridge, completely isolated from modern conveniences like electricity or running water. Her family of fourteen relied on hunting, small-scale farming, and her father’s grueling manual labor just to survive the harsh winters in the Great Smoky Mountains. The biting cold of the Little Pigeon River and the harsh sting of homemade lye soap could have become a bitter childhood memory. Instead, Parton anchored her identity to those difficult years, remembering the warmth of her mother's care rather than the freezing water. She never tried to erase her dirt-poor origins. That raw upbringing gave her a genuine understanding of the working-class families who would later buy her records and fill her stadiums. When she finally gained massive financial power, she did not run from Sevier County. She built Dollywood right beside that same wild river. Instead of just writing songs about her hometown, she poured millions of dollars into its foundation. She funded local schools, built hospitals, and became the largest employer in the entire region. She did not simply survive the poverty of her youth; she systematically dismantled it for the people who came after her. The girl who bathed in a freezing creek transformed her valley into a thriving economic hub. The exact negotiations that allowed her to build an entertainment empire in the mountains, and the specific philanthropic strategies she used to rescue her county, reveal the brilliant business mind operating beneath the signature wigs.

Dolly Parton will be the first woman in America that an international airport will be named after. There are nearly 20,000 airports in the United States and not ONE is named after a woman. Until now. It took Dolly Parton to undo that.
