@retribution386 @GrzegorzLippe @Jerry11029355 @TravisAllen02 Ok, fine. What does “well-regulated” mean in this context?

@ellesep When I got today’s Wordle, the screen popped up and my streak had disappeared. I reloaded and it came back, which is good. Because if all our Wordle streaks disappeared, that might have been the thing that finally breaks us.

@HarryDibbs_ @ope_im_gay @rachsyme I think the pronunciation in the UK makes a difference. I knew a guy called Harry who moved to the US and could not stand to hear Americans call him Hairy. That said, my 7yo has had at least one classmate who was called Harry.

@meganromer You might be joking, but my community has an adult synchronized swimming club. They compete with others. There are opportunities, at least in some communities.

@ACLakeMD It’s especially delightful now that I have made two additional people with ADHD. I have to remember to pick up meds for myself and both kids every 30 days.

@mwestramke This is fantastic! I’m so glad you found a good place to be. I need to visit Bethel Bethany some time. Ive heard so many good things. (Not that I need another church, but I love just visiting too!)

Me: there’s a lot going on in this week’s church service. Better keep the sermon short, focus on the Pentecost story. Also me: *writes separate sermons with a focus on each of the other lectionary readings, can’t figure out what to say about the Pentecost reading*

@MelissaFloBix @RevBuck7 Missouri and Wisconsin Synod Lutherans also do this. Websites will just say Lutheran. Though I’m not sure if they are hoping to avoid association with their denomination’s fundamentalist reputation or if they just think they are the only true Lutherans 😬

@biofillea And again, I get that that these topics are relevant and important to some congregations. Our church was just super not the target audience for this discussion.

@biofillea It’s a monthly stewardship discussion group that we try to send someone to every month. I think it’s mostly pretty practical and useful. They announced the focus topic this month was “planned giving”, I just wasn’t prepared to what that would entail.

Attending a stewardship seminar on behalf of my congregation. Turns out it’s about managing your congregation’s endowment and helping congregants avoid “unnecessary taxes.”

@stephijulia Our synod (ELCA Greater Milwaukee) is partnered with a diocese in Tanzania, and a local non-profit distribute fair-trade coffee beans from farmers in their region. So churches in our synod often have good coffee, but for a good reason.

@d_l_mayfield Thank you for saying this! I can’t can get into it. I’ve tried. My son and I are obsessed with Baby Yoda. Our Baby Yoda plushie is a member of the family. People say that we must really like the show, and I’m like, Eh, find it pretty boring actually.

Seriously, I just heard an informative song about the mighty ankylosaurus followed immediately by We Are Many Parts.

Update: Turns out Marty Haugen wrote an album of songs about dinosaurs? And when you play it on Spotify, you get a mix of All Are Welcome Here and Gather Us In and songs that sound similar except they are about dinosaurs. You’re welcome. open.spotify.com/album/0X1lRW5b…

I just realized that Marty Haugen playlists on Spotify are a thing that exists in this world. I am exactly as happy as one might expect a guitar-mass-loving, now-ELCA geek to be with this revelation.
