@Amanwy regarding your claim of roads being quieter, Revs are increased 20 mph running over 3000rpm in second gear, I will point you in the direction of a driving test, more revs = more noise, ask any car manufacturers.

@Amanwy can I also draw your attention to MPG, I drive a hybrid my MPG is lower at 20 mph than 30 mph, hence using more fuel, greater impact on the environment. Ask any car manufacturer modern cars are not efficient at 20
