Yes, there are some ecosystems still building towards the Web3 vision: → Resilience → Decentralization → Truth over Trust @gavofyork presenting JAM to a packed house in Hong Kong yesterday. JAM is trustless supercomputer that will form the basis of a Web3 cloud.

How Polkadot rollups (parachains) compare to Ethereum rollups - The core idea of Polkadot is that its main chain - the Relay Chain - doesn't do much except coordinate and secure other chains (45 of them, currently, although it can handle many more). Ethereum also allows for smart contracts to run on its main chain (the Beacon chain), which means that it is doing double-duty of both running these smart contracts and the rollups. Rollups on Ethereum generally come in two flavors - optimistic, and zero-knowledge (ZK). Optimistic rollups are more efficient but have a major downside - they assume everything is correct UNLESS someone submits a fraud proof. This is why there is a long delay when bridging back to Ethereum, to give time for someone to submit a fraud proof. ZK rollups include a proof that everything is correct, but are much more computationally intensive to run and complex to implement. Rollups on Polkadot are sometimes called "native" or "pessimistic" rollups. They operate similarly to optimistic rollups (allowing for high efficiency) EXCEPT a randomly-selected subset of validators on the relay chain automatically verify the new blocks (thus, "pessimistic" - the chain doesn't immediately trust new blocks). You can think of it as the optimistic rollup design but the chain itself is constantly looking to see if it can submit a fraud proof. This gives us finality usually within less than 20 seconds (with Ethereum, finality is usually within two epochs - ~ 13 minutes - and for optimistic rollups, it can be up to a week!). This design also means that usually anyone can run a collator (the equivalent of a sequencer) for a parachain/rollups. Altogether, rollups on Polkadot give you more decentralization, more throughout, and faster finality than equivalent Ethereum L2 rollups.
