Instead, HE HAS BEEN PROMOTED to Acting Deputy Secretary for Tax Policy. In this role, he is institutionalizing a new standard for what the IRS audits and investigates. That rule: “The IRS doesn’t like it.” Ask any high-end tax lawyer or CPA about it and they will tell you it’s happening. That rule has nothing to do with the laws Congress passed, or the policies of the Trump Administration. It is a Deep State standard based on nothing but the whims of bureaucracy. Who do these new “the IRS doesn’t like it” investigations target? If you guessed conservatives, you’d be right. They go after 100% legal tax strategies that have previously been explicitly blessed by even Democrat Administrations. Things like captive insurance companies, conservation easements, and R&D tax credits. The end result- according to one conservative donor - is $3-4 BILLION per year that would otherwise be donated to conservative causes and candidates, but instead is being frozen by the IRS in practice . The vetting crisis continues. Republicans are in control of the White House, House, and Senate. They need to learn how to win when they secure a win instead of surrounding themselves with Leftists and Obama-Biden era holdovers who do nothing but sabotage President Trump’s agenda. I hope @SecScottBessent will address this ASAP so that billions of dollars in funding can be unfrozen. @IRSnews
