SPURS BEAT CHELSEA AT STAMFORD BRIDGE FOR JUST THE 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃 TIME IN PREMIER LEAGUE HISTORY 🤯 And the first since 2018 ⏪

🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 | GOAL: MATHYS TEL DOUBLES THE LEAD FOR TOTTENHAM! WHAT A GOLAZO! Chelsea 0- Tottenham.

A student at NW Missouri State recently asked me: "Why is my 'queer' behavior considered wrong?" Culture tells us that morality is based on feelings, but true love requires truth. Here’s how I answered her live on campus 👇

it’s almost a rule of thumb that when you cast a comedy actor in a sad movie, they’ll deliver a career-best performance

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people. The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

@memeticsisyphus suicidal empathy

The football world actually looks fucking stupid to Spurs fans right now. He was better at Spurs than he is now at Bayern FYI and it's still taken you all 11 years to start talking about him as a player at this level. Fucking mental how shit 99% of football fans opinions are.

All this talk about Harry Kane winning the ballon d'or this year. Everything you're praising him for right now is what he has been doing for a decade. He is the best player on the planet. He has been for a long time. You're a moron if you think otherwise.

Harry Kane's passing is on another level 📈 #UCL

Dune: Part 3 is less than 2 months away. For all the pomp & circumstance and for all the hype The Odyssey received - Dune should receive as much, if not more. This could be the film event of the decade. Dune: Part 2 was close on its on merits. But I’m hopeful Denis Villeneuve is going to build off everything he did in the second film & leave us with a final act that will be remembered forever. My excitement over this film’s release is ramping way up.

Why does Lindsay Clancy have so many supporters?

Just a little reminder that Harry Kane was doing the same things he’s doing now for years at Spurs. Despite the media agenda to rewrite history. This was one of the greatest individual Premier League performances ever.

this is really good > Here’s what I think is going on with Elizabeth Holmes: She has an extremely severe form of the defense mechanism that Melanie Klein called splitting—dividing self and world into unambiguous “good” or “bad.” She cannot admit that she has any bad qualities: any aggression, any selfishness, any tendency to deceive others, or even any of the more positive forms of aggressiveness like ambition. On her account, her motivations are all benevolent, idealistic, and noble. She even says she never lies! ... > But I think it’s too simple to present Holmes as the victim of predatory men—again, this would be a form of splitting—instead, I think the men in her life embody aggressive qualities she cannot acknowledge or integrate in herself. Her entire identity is organized around an idealized image of herself as a benevolent visionary, while aggression, destructiveness, and guilt are split off, disavowed, and projected onto others. This is how she preserves the fiction of her own innocence. ... > I don’t think the distinction between conscious deception and sincere delusion quite captures Elizabeth Holmes’s psychology. I suspect that she’s not fully conscious of her own deception because she has constructed an elaborate system of defenses against recognizing the truth. I think she is psychotic, not in our ordinary sense of the term, meaning hallucinations or elaborate paranoid fantasies, but in having a fractured relationship to what Jacques Lacan called the symbolic order. She doesn’t relate to language, and therefore truth and falsity, in a normal way. ... > In Lacan’s terminology, psychosis results from the foreclosure of the Name-of-the-Father: the failure of a fundamental paternal signifier to become integrated into the symbolic order. In ordinary psychic development, the father functions not merely as an actual person but as a symbolic authority, introducing a mediating principle that allows the child to differentiate itself from others and establish a relatively normal relationship to language, law, and desire. You bear your father’s name; you are like him in some way, but you know you are not exactly him. Your relationship to him is mediated by metaphor: you can take his place without being him. This distance allows you to become your own person. But in psychosis, this symbolic function is absent or disturbed, and the subject may instead rely on more immediate, imaginary identifications. ... > Holmes’s relationship with her father becomes especially interesting in light of this. At one point, she reads aloud a strange piece of her creative writing where she imagines becoming engulfed or identical with her father. There’s also a remarkable biographical parallel: her father worked at Enron, a company destroyed by a notorious corporate fraud, while also pursuing humanitarian ambitions—he worked as the head of green energy there. Holmes appears to have reproduced this peculiar combination of corporate ambition and philanthropic idealism almost literally. It’s as if, rather than relating to her father through a symbolic identification, she attempts to be him, to repeat and rescue what he was trying to accomplish.

The only reason Harry Kane is not the best midfielder in the world is because he decided to be the best striker in the world.
