A friend of mine owns a car repair on Colfax. The other day he noticed a bunch of people in front of his shop. They were immigrants that had been dumped there. Venezualan , El Salvador, 3 of them were mechanics, a couple were chefs, all kinds of skill sets 1
..and they wanted a job. He hired the 3, turned out they knew wtf they were doing. Not only that they repaired an engine that he could not get to work and he's a master. Not only all that, his friend that owns a restaurant hired 6 of them. The mechanics not 2
....only fixed a bunch of cars, they cleaned his entire shop, put all the tools in order and got the next 6 ready to work on the next day. His restaurant buddy has both chefs cooking and the rest are waiters and busboys and girls. These people aren't coming 3
for a free ride, they want to work, raise their families and they love the USA. The racist Reich wing only sees negatives, we see people who need our help and in return they'll make our country a better place. I think we should welcome some of them. 4
@AudreyStJames1 They better be paying them a living wage
@AudreyStJames1 So the owner isn’t skilled? He couldn’t fix it? Post not to bring any car there
@AudreyStJames1 Here’s a reverse experience that has been a very common theme in the U.K. post-Brexit. Loads of highly capable, hard working, multi-lingual Europeans left, and next to no one in the U.K. able, or as capable, or willing to do the work they were doing. Abject failure!
@AudreyStJames1 I worked in restaurants for 15 years with some of the hardest working Hispanic people in the world. Anyone who claims they're lazy hasn't worked with them.
