أمّا وأن الشائعات التي تزعم أنني تعرضت لفخامة رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون في اجتماعات في واشنطن ما زالت تتردد، وحرصاً مني على ألّا يُسهم تكرارها في ترسيخها في أذهان البعض، أريد أن أؤكّد أن هذه الشائعات عارية من الصحة جملةً وتفصيلاً ، وعلى العكس تماماً وانطلاقاً من قناعتي أشدتُ بفخامة الرئيس وبخطاب القسم الذي منح اللبنانيين الأمل بالاصلاح الفعلي. وليس صحيحاً أيضاً أنّ دولة الرئيس نواف سلام حثّني على الذهاب الى الولايات المتحدة أو أنني على أي تواصل معه في موضوع حاكمية مصرف لبنان. وإنني أعيد التأكيد على أنني أرى في وصول الرئيسين عون وسلام تجسيداً للإصلاح الذي ينشده اللبنانيات واللبنانيون منذ عقود وفرصة نادرة للخروج من هذه الأزمات التي تراكمت واشتدت وأوصلت البلاد الى الوضع الذي نحن عليه. أمّا بشأن طرح إسمي لحاكمية مصرف لبنان فهذا متداول منذ العام ٢٠٢٢ وليس وليد اليوم ولا وليد الظرف ولا علاقة لذلك بتسمية الدكتور نواف سلام رئيساً للحكومة. كما أن مواقفي بشأن الإصلاح المالي والاقتصادي في لبنان معروفة ومنشورة وموثّقة منذ سنوات. وختاماً، مع الاحتفاظ بحقي القانوني برفع دعاوى ضدّ كل من يبثّ الشائعات بهدف التشهير او التضليل او لأيّ هدف آخر، أتمنى من كل من يتناول قضية حاكمية مصرف لبنان ويرغب بمعرفة رأيي الاتصال بي شخصياً للوقوف على الحقيقة وتوخياً للدقة. ويبقى القول إنّ حملة التضليل الممنهجة والمكشوفة الاهداف والتي تنمّ عن إفلاس تام في إيجاد أي حجّة مقنعة، لا ترمي للنيل مني وحسب، بل هي تستهدف النهج الاصلاحي الذي يجسده الرئيس عون بحزم الإرادة والرئيس سلام بقوة التصميم وبالتالي لن تجد لها سبيلاً.
