Most romantic relationships in law school are ephemeral, and before I went to law school, I understood the dynamics of such relationships, and I was ready for it. For someone like me from a middle class background, I concluded from the get-go that the aristocrat girls that befriended me wanted something - sex and free tutorials. Based on that understanding, I dealt with them from a place of absolute indifference coupled with the fact that I'd just broken up with the girl I dated in the university about a few months prior. She still occupied a place in my heart at the time, and I wasn't willing to replace her already, but I also didn't owe any duty to her to remain faithful. I opted to have all the fun I could have in Bwari, while putting my nose to the grindstone academically. Because I was pretty smart, I bagged a good number of pretty, topnotch women. A male colleague of mine who I met in Law School, quite naive, gave his all to a particular girl who finally left him emasculated and mortified. He was lucky enough to have scraped through law school in one sitting. For me, they came and they went listlessly. What he didn't realise was the feminine inexorable desire for companionship till they could return home to their lovers. Most of the women I caroused with had boyfriends and manfriends, and most of them got married as soon as we left law school. Although, I'd have to admit that on a few occasions, I self-sabotaged these relationships. Two of the women I met were sincere, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
