@BrutusVTI Love this! My daughter's a teen now and I wish I'd started this split when she was little. Nobody taught me money growing up, so this is exactly what I want for my kids. Did they push back on the 50% at first lol?
Unpopular opinion: breakfast for dinner beats actual dinner every single time. Pancakes at 7pm just hit different. What's your go-to "this shouldn't work but it does" meal?
Army taught me a lot, but the habit I can't shake is being 15 minutes early to everything. My family thinks I'm crazy. I think "on time" is late. Veterans, what military habit followed you home?
Future valuations would make a Tesla-SpaceX merger the biggest corporation in the world for the next half century.
@CompoundMinded That sounds solid to me! As a dad and Army vet I keep a bigger cash cushion than most finance folks would say, just because it helps me sleep at night with kids lol. Peace of mind counts too. How many months of expenses is your target?
@VFWHQ @VFW_OfficeDC Army vet here and this one is personal for a lot of us. Guys medically retired from combat injuries shouldn't lose retirement pay because they got hurt. Love that it can move on its own now! Anyone heard when it might actually hit the floor?
@travelhacked Ooh, the Companion Pass is the dream for a family of four! Someone flies free with you every trip, that adds up fast. I had no idea signup points stop counting in 2027, good heads up. Still worth it if you only fly Southwest a few times a year?
@awealthofcs I plan on lower returns and hope to be pleasantly surprised lol. As a dad with a day job, I'd rather budget with a conservative number and just keep buying every month either way. What number do you use for your own planning?
@ramit Honestly I'm somewhere in between lol. Army vet, dad of two, and nobody taught me money growing up, so I want the cushion AND the fun trips. My version of #2 is flying the whole family somewhere on points with zero stress. Can you be both?
Apple should be worried if Elon launches a Tesla phone
SpaceX investors right now
How many of you are actually in $SPCX? JPM just doubled their price target from $240 to $500. 😂
My wife and I have a Vegas trip coming up this week and it's all going on one card so the points can help pay for our next family vacation! Honestly, nobody taught me about points growing up lol. Parents, how do you usually pay for trips?
As crazy as this sounds, $1T in SpaceX revenue in 2028 is no longer impossible
Who’s ready for take off?!?!?
JUST IN: SpaceX reports earnings after the bell today, its second as a public company
@AdamInvestss Thanks, started retirement planning late in life so going aggressively now but have a solid budget where we aren't broke now to be set later on.
My portfolio is set for my wife and I to be around $5.5 - $6 million at 65. Way more than enough for us during retirement. Our focus is to build a portfolio and give our kids the knowledge to start generational wealth.
@CajunCybertruck Dad of two here! I'd start with: you own a tiny piece of a real company now, so you get to cheer when it does well. Then that it's for the long haul, not for selling next week lol. Honestly I'm showing mine the rocket launches too 🚀 What would you teach first?
@travelhacked Love this one! We use the Amex Platinum mostly for family trips, and stacking an offer on top of the hotel credit is what actually makes the fee feel worth it. Does it stack on the same stay, or do you need two bookings?
@DAVHQ Army vet here, and so many guys I served with had no idea this offset existed until they got out. Earning a retirement and getting hurt serving are two different things! Really glad to see real movement on this. Thanks for staying on it, DAV.
