Former BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull has died. He was 66. He was loved by our viewers. He was loved by his colleagues. Bill will always be remembered for his warmth, humour and being a brilliant journalist.
@BBCBreakfast Very Very sad news. RIP. My prayers and condolences to his family.
@BBCBreakfast So very very sad and clearly hard for both Charlie and @TVNaga01 to have to report this morning. Thoughts to all his family, friends and colleagues. What a truly lovely man Bill was. RIP Bill
@BBCBreakfast So very sad to hear this. I can see how upset Charlie & Naga are to bring us this news today. Thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.
@BBCBreakfast Very sad news indeed. One of my favourite broadcasters - kind, warm, funny and treated all guests with the upmost respect. He’s done so much to raise the awareness of men’s cancers since he was diagnosed. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and ex- colleagues 🙏🥲
@BBCBreakfast May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace. I enjoyed watching him every morning during my stay in London. He was such a talent.
@BBCBreakfast Heartbreaking to hear the news just then about Bill. Was clearly a very difficult piece of news for Charlie and Naga to report but they showed true professionalism. Deepest condolences to all the Breakfast team, and to Bill's family at this sad time 💔
@BBCBreakfast Such hard news for Naga and Charlie to have to deliver this morning and done with such professionalism. A great broadcaster. He will be sadly missed xxx
@BBCBreakfast RIP to a great presenter, always enjoyed his warm style. Credit to Charlie and Naga for delivering the news so professionally, just as Bill would have done.
@BBCBreakfast Very sad for family, friends and former colleagues. My condolences to them. But when a news programme focuses (as it will tomorrow) on one of its own presenters for a significant time, I wonder what the real purpose of that programme is- presenters more important than the news?
