Police boss Philip Allott, who said women needed to be "streetwise" following Sarah Everard's murder by police officer, resigns as North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner bbc.in/3AGtAQx
@BBCBreaking Only time I am street wise is when I travel to 3rd world cities like Lagos: you won’t see me dangling a Canon DSLR camera around my neck outside posh areas of Lagos and holding a road map in one hand and cellphone with Google maps in other hand (complete giveaway am a tourist🤦♀️)
@BBCBreaking Good story for @prweekuknews given the client pressure that is bound to unfold at his PR agency as a result @mediaguardian
@BBCBreaking It,s tantamount to the fence eating the grass!
@BBCBreaking BBCBreaking : Looking at Philip Allott, having confidence in him and his manner give doubt in his employment. Sarah Everard comments were disgrace to her and the police force! If any good came out of this was his dismissal in his job and a blessing for women.
@BBCBreaking we all need to be streetwise, putting the message out is right, surely.
@BBCBreaking Such a shame so many were outraged by his comments & it became a ‘PC’ situation. Women are frequently preyed on so it is imperative that they are street smart in order to protect themselves. Be aware of their surroundings & yes, know enough about the law if an officer oversteps.
@BBCBreaking @BBCWorld This doesn’t apply to a woman who trusted a police officer. It was the wrong context for that statement
