Flu activity (red) is going down in Lyon (France). RSV (orange) epidemic is almost over. Lets see SARS-Cov-2 (green) next move before we can finally say: "season's over".

Influenza (red) and SARS-Cov-2 (green) are tested alltogether (PCR duplex/multiplex) since early 2023. In 2023 most often there was more hospital lab-confirmed SARS-Cov-2 cases detected per week than Influenza. It is changing early 2024 due to the Flu epidemic. Wait and see.
RSV (Orange) and SARS-Cov-2 (Green) activity peaked the very same week (W50). Flu (Red) activity is already high. Our population (Lyon) is experiencing three major viral epidemics in a very short time frame at a very special time (christmas). Hope it is not the new seasonality...
RSV is slowly coming back to the pre-covid-19 dynamic in Lyon. Still we may not be there yet. It looks like the RSV pic will be earlier this season.

In Lyon (France) the current RSV case detection curve is really close to the mean pre-covid RSV season. Is RSV finally back on track after three atypical post-covid RSV seasons ?

A bit early in the season to take any conclusion. But so far, RSV dynamic mirror the pre-covid-19 RSV dynamic. Maybe RSV is finaly back on tracks ? Wait and see...

Week 34 this is where we stand just before school opens. Two plausible scenarios: 1) 2021 actual SARS-Cov-2 wave will end soon while rhinovirus and RSV epidemics will start 2) 2022 SARS-Cov-2 cases will soon rise with increase circulation in school age-children
Same trend in Lyon (France). We observe an increase in SARS-Cov-2 positive rate for all groups since three weeks. Fascinating how it can be so synchronise across countries. Hope it is not an august covid wave. US COVID markers continue slow summer rise cidrap.umn.edu/covid-19/us-co…
@clotilde_egs RED around 50% positive rate (maximum observed); YELLOW 1 to 10 %. Hard to see but PCR positive rate values are indicated in the table. On average in summer we detected 1 to 2 new influenza adult cases every week. Some patients have a recent history of travel but other's don't.
Now we are testing for Influenza year-around we can pick-up some flu activity during summer (mostly in adults). See heat map of PCR positive rates per week and age groups in Lyon (2022-2023). Low endemic circulation ? Multiple introductions from abroad ?
