Exchanges cannot delegate to individual community bakers, as few such bakers have the exchange-grade capacity that exchanges require. Bakepools are collectives comprised of many independent bakers, able to meet exchange-grade capacity as bands of self-organized agencies. #tezos

19.77% of all liquid Tez is staked by just a few exchanges, but we're shrinking that number to 0%, by enabling exchanges to outsource to capacity-rich self-organized 'bakepools' comprised of community bakers who remain independent nodes, thereby encouraging network growth! #tezos

Bakepools will, in part: 1) Enable a decentralized, yet scalable means for exchanges to outsource delegation 2) Make such outsourcing an economically better option for exchanges 3) Grow and financially benefit bakers in the network by relying on their participation #tezos

@tezosatl @coinbase Right now only exchange bakers have this level of capacity. The @Bakepool project will solve this problem to benefit both Coinbase's and the ecosystem at-large. Exchanges would be able to scalably delegate all XTZ in custody throughout distributed networks of independent bakers.

The Bakepool Project has 2 underlying mission goals: (I) to incentivize the proliferation of ever-more independent Tezos baking nodes (II) to incentivize an increase in the total proportion of XTZ to be staked by non-institutional independent bakers around the world #tezos

Exchanges like Coinbase and Binance will delegate to bakepools and close their internal bakers for the same reason a brick and mortar retailer would use independent trucking companies instead of managing their own branded fleet. Better quality, lower cost, more scalability #Tezos

Regarding @Bakepool decentralization, each bakepool comprises many different independent baking nodes. You cannot be part of a bakepool unless you have a full-fledged independent baking node. #Tezos will do pooling they RIGHT way. Unlike, say, mining nodes, which are centralizing
