a good way to think about curating your wardrobe is to get to a place where you only have A-Team clothes (and you know exactly what those items are for you). the more you can whittle out the stuff you wear out of necessity but don't really like, the better everything will feel

Fast forward, I am happily still in USA, with jobs in the arts that I love, living with the man that is the love of my life. Who-plot twist-is NOT my British ex, but an American I met here 2.5 years ago through mutual friends, within the same week that British ex&I ended things
