Without drugs and alcohol, what’s the best way to escape reality?

finished a book last night and i started having withdrawal symptoms so bad i was DREAMING about the characters

Whenever i read great writers, i am reminded i am not as well read as i think i am. Then, i get excited because i realize that means there is more to read. More to learn! More to write! More to live!

Aight Anna is officially with Vronsky and idk man I don't blame her AT THIS MOMENT. Her husband is lame (cheating is still bad though miss girl)

how reading your own writing feels like

Chat I only read forty minutes today I am NOT on schedule for Anna Karenina FUCK

This is true of all characters really. One of the biggest roadblocks to writing for a lot of people is being too afraid to make their characters actually be flawed and fuck up in ways that can't be easily dismissed

Side note, def will do a book ranking at the end of the year for all the books I've read, and yall can see what I've been reading! I'm on my 44th book of the year yay! So it'll be long lmao but it'll be fun!

It definitely has its flaws; I found myself lost in the writing a few times, BUT deadass overall loved it. I'm dickriding this book and idgaf; it's great. Flowers to Shelley Parker-Chan🌺🌸🌻🌺🪷🌼🌷

Another thing: the ending isn't doom and gloom. I think I've become so used to that, but recently I've read so many queer stories that have hopeful endings. It's been really awesome, especially in a time when that feels less and less true.

ALRIGHT. This is my first post here so I'm gonna make this short and sweet to start. I read the Radiant Empire Duology by Shelley Parker-Chan and mf, it was ridiculously good. Favorite read of the year (so far). Read it, please. Don't be a goober. Read it!

Also just started Anna Karenina and I'm really scared but I'm also lowkey loving it. It's juicy I will not lie. All these mfs are cheating holy shit. Miss Anna is being a bit spunky rn...poor Kitty :-(
