WTF does it actually take to impeach a SCOTUS judge? "Who cares if I've accepted millions of dollars in gifts I didn't report, I'VE decided I did nothing wrong. Oh, my wife? Meh, dismantling democracy is just her little hobby."
@BelleStruts @AustinUXgirl This group is untouchable. That's why they are so brazen and unapologetic about their crimes.
@BelleStruts @PAWarnhoff Like any other impeachment - it takes political will (I say this without taking sides on any particular issue or individual)
@BelleStruts It's impossible to get the votes in the senate. The DOJ should investigate and prosecute and that will require repacking the court so conviction not blocked on appeal. So your answer is Blue majorities in both houses and Biden reelected.
@BelleStruts That is the problem with impeachment. It is not practical. If you look at the history of impeachment, it has almost never successfully been pursued. It's great in theory and awful in practice, and needs to be replaced by an actual method of holding people accountable.
@BelleStruts People writing up the Articles? People being willing to write up the Articles? People not being paid lots of money to be *unwilling* to write up the Articles?
