@hankgreen He pulls up at the very end, giving himself a slight upward velocity while having a high horizontal velocity. Its like someone doing a really really fast long jump.

@JackLinFLL @ptbkk Given the amount of speeding and rolling stops I see daily; drivers also rarely get ticketed. No one wants that level of enforcement on petty infractions, you just don't like cyclists so you want them enforced unequally.

@JackLinFLL @ptbkk Traffic laws are already enforced on cyclists, drivers make far more petty infractions than cyclists. Speeding and rolling stops are common practice amongst drivers.

@JackLinFLL @ptbkk More pointless bureaucracy that would cost more than it saves. Those systems are not punishments for drivers, they are in place because of the damage a car can do. Bicycles do not weigh multiple tons or regularly go over 30mph.

@JackLinFLL @ptbkk The bureaucracy needed to enforce a tax proportional to maintenance impact by bikes on roads would cost more than the tax would bring it. Bike are not strictly reactional, they are just as valid a method of everyday transport as cars.

@CanGop @tomflood1 Imagine thinking government built roads and publicly subsidised parking infrastructure is capitalistic.

@grapejuiceluxe @anabailaoTO You've got who's subsidizing who backwards, urban residents subsidize services to the suburban area's. Perhaps we should cut the budget for road construction and maintenance? City residence shouldn't have to carry the burden of paying for roads to transport people in.

@commpatriote You could have a car that could do both, or you can keep your SUV just don't expect driving/parking in the city to be convenient for you.

@MotoNutJob @Only9built Yeah, shocking that human instincts didn't evolve for this kind of situation. Just crazy because transport trucks have been around for a 100 thousand years right?
