Washington this year is first-ever ATP/WTA combined event with both at the 500 level, but it's clear pretty quickly that these events are not at all symmetrical, at least not yet. Women's draw here is smaller (28 vs 48), way stronger by ranking, and significantly less paid.

In their June restructuring announcement, WTA pledged equal prize money at combined 500 events by 2027. Lotsa ground to make up in four years.
@BenRothenberg I feel like most people defending this are just doing hypocrisy. U bring more money u get paid more simple equation. 🤷🏽♂️
@BenRothenberg Do both tours have the same amount of sponsors and get the same amount of revenue from sponsors?
@BenRothenberg The WTA often doesn’t act like they’re serious about their sport and supporting their players
@BenRothenberg The top players should protest and not play these tournaments
@BenRothenberg The ATP draw is really weak for that kind of money. It's basically a 250 draw plus an extra round.
