Ryan's second #AI paper compares the performance of @OpenAI o1 to other LLMs, including a lite version of @deepseek_ai. Impressively, Deepseek lite outperformed o1 in first-order (recall) questions. This bodes well for accessible AI use in ophthalmology! tinyurl.com/xulab15

I also had the pleasure of collaborating with Dr. Cindy Cai @JohnsHopkins to study the association between GLP1-RA (e.g. Ozempic) and NAION, a serious eye condition. In a cohort of 37 million patients, GLP1-RA use increased risk of NAION by 1.3 times! tinyurl.com/xulab11
