Delighted to share our systematic review led by @IsobelGabain, revealing significant associations between child protozoan infections and stunting, esp Cryptosporidium spp. the & Giardia spp., although data on impact of maternal infections were lacking. eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…
Our review of 99 observational studies found strong evidence linking intestinal protozoan infection with child growth faltering. Evidence on infections during pregnancy and their impact on birth outcomes was limited and inconclusive, highlighting a need for further research.
