With my mother. Daddy’s funeral. He wasn’t assassinated because he wanted his children to be judged “by the content of their character.” But for dismantling racism, poverty & militarism. He wanted corrective measures to eradicate racism, not the delusion that it doesn’t exist.
@BerniceKing May he rest in everlasting glory for the legacy he has left us. I wish Martin Luther King Jr. was alive today. What would he do and say about what is happening in Gaza? Would he have allowed this war to go on for 100 days? #CEASEFIRE_NOW
@BerniceKing My heart goes out to you @BerniceKing. So sorry you lost your father so early in your life. But thank you for embodying his teachings. MLK is a guiding light for me. I've tried in work to fight against racism and poverty and for social justice. 🙏❤️ #MLK2024
@BerniceKing @geoff9cow I'm old enough to remember those tragic days. Sending you love and gratitude. ❤️
@BerniceKing Me too then A time we were placed in fear..
@BerniceKing @AlanaDimario Yes, things were very different then.
@BerniceKing @MollyJongFast Can’t imagine the strength it takes for a child to process such an event. Your father’s memory reminds all of us that the fight is bigger than each one.
@BerniceKing And he was killed because he was advocating non-violence. It’s easy to target a group of people fighting with guns. It’s much harder to eradicate a group of people marching nonviolently.
