Better question: why is there hidden MMR in the first place? Oh I know why. Because ranked is being falsely advertised as a competitive playlist. It wants gold players to be able to reach diamond if they put in the time. Solution? Keep the gold players fighting players of their skill level even as they climb the ranks. Hidden MMR negatively affects the entire ladder from top to bottom. Today on stream, it took us 50+ minutes to find a game at 5pmEST on the most popular ranked server for pros. Want to know why? Because we had won 7 games in a row. Our hidden MMR was so high that every other pro and PEOPLE HIGHER RANK THAN US would go into the game and we’d get skipped. We were #2 pred, and the #1 pred got 3 games in the time it took us to get 1. This happens to me literally every season I play ranked on day one. People who are worse at the game than me get rewarded with more games because they suck. EVEN WHEN THEY ARE LITERALLY A HIGHER RANK THAN ME (because they have double my games and stayed up 20+ hours) If the #1 pred has 50 games and the #2 pred has 25 games, the #1 guy will have lower MMR (because he’s a worse player) and get into games whereas the #2 guy may get skipped (even if he was in queue for 40 minutes already) I know I accrue a higher hidden MMR than other ranked players because the beginning of the season put me in D4 after finishing #20 while everyone ahead of me 1-19 got put in platinum (some as low as P4) I’m okay with longer queue times. I don’t care if my queue is 40 minutes but if I’m in a queue with 20+ pros and the #1 pred why am I the only person who get skipped???????????? Oh I know why, because ranked isn’t a ranked playlist it’s a participation award with biased matchmaking. And yes this affects even low ranked players!!!! If you’re better at the game you will get harder games than someone the same rank as you because it wants them to have something they wouldn’t earn without an artificial boost!!!!!!

Yo @PlayApex how are some preds reset to plat 4 other reset to plat 2, and some players in diamond 4? Completely ruins the race to pred giving some players massive head starts compared to others?

Apex legends matchmaking is actually so chalked. The ONLY players I have been paired with this season are Mf’s who can’t break 1k dmg. I LEGIT had a teammate who had 77 Dmg at END GAME! Why am I forced to babysit terrible players because I’m above average at the game?!?!

Thinking about opening up a service to help teams who are deserving of it, that necessarily cannot afford to have a coach. Just wanna give everyone a chance to showcase themselves and grow as players. Not certain, but looking to make time for it.

you don't think missing revenue targets by 45% has anything to do with the core philosophy of not wanting to overdeliver right? good people suffering as a result of other people who are in charge who SHOULD NOT BE IN CHARGE

NEW: Bungie laid off ~8% of staff Monday, or around 100 people, sources tell Bloomberg. Two weeks ago, staff were told they were projected to miss revenue targets by 45%. Employees were galvanized to get things on track... then came surprise layoffs bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
