Always grateful for Leslie Feinberg's decision to make "Stone Butch Blues" available to read for free, as looking for one in Indonesia was like trying to touch my own toes (I'm not flexible). A hard read but necessary. It sucks being put in narrow box when you contain multitudes.

I just joined early Hobbit Day meeting at Grey Haven Smial's Discord where we shared something from Tolkien and outside Tolkien to describe what Hobbitness means. I read from my Indonesian The Hobbit and managed to connect these books when sharing about what "home" really means.

I like Jan Pospíšil's interpretation of the Corsairs of Umbar's helmets. Visual-wise, they are closer to Tolkien's drawing of Númenórean helmet (setting aside practicality and personal taste). I also saw the crown of Roger Garland's Ulmo in them. #TolkienTrewsday #TolkienTuesday

Muhawi and Kanaana spent 30 years gathering Palestinian folktales from Gaza, the West Bank, and Galilee. The result is a book of 45 tales drawn from hikaye tradition, mostly narrated by women. I appreciate the ethnographical notes, folkloric analysis, and index of folk motifs.
