I believe there will come a time when NOT genetically enhancing your children is considered immoral. There’s a future where we can safely select/edit embryos to give children a biological edge in health, intelligence, and other traits. And if every other parent does it, you don’t want to be the one whose child is disadvantaged. Is it immoral to not give your child that advantage in that world? Probably yes. I know that sounds insane today, but so many things throughout history that once sounded insane are now normal. IVF was condemned as an abomination when the first IVF baby was born in 1978. Today, more than 12 million babies have been born through it. I suspect this is another example.
