Monday tip: anything that happens on a schedule (trash day, pill refills, the haircut every six weeks) only needs to be typed in once. Open the event, tap Edit, then Repeat, and your iPhone takes it from there.
Sunday tip: take two minutes to set up Medical ID on your iPhone. Health app > tap your picture > Medical ID, add medications, allergies and an emergency contact, then turn on Show When Locked. Paramedics can see it without your passcode. support.apple.com/en-us/105072
Tip: put birthdays in Contacts, not on sticky notes. Open the person in Contacts, tap Edit, add the birthday, and your iPhone calendar shows it every year by itself. Grandkids, old friends, even the in-laws.
Friday tip: give important appointments two alerts. One the day before so you can sort out the ride, one two hours before so you actually leave on time.
Thursday tip: If the text on your iPhone feels too small, try this before blaming your glasses.
Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Larger Text, then drag the slider.
It works in Calendar, Mail, Messages and more. Apple's how-to:

Tuesday tip: when you add an appointment, type the full address into the Location field. On the day, one tap opens directions. Put the office phone number in the notes too, so you can call ahead if you're running late.
Thursday tip: for the appointments that really matter, give them two alerts. In Apple Calendar, open the event, tap Edit, set an Alert for the day before and a Second Alert for an hour before. One reminder is easy to swipe away. Two usually stick.
@TuckerPoodleMA Love that he's excited! Small setup tip for the new phone: Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size, plus Bold Text. One minute of setup and he'll squint a lot less.
@littledncrgurl You're not alone, a lot of families hit this. If it gets frustrating for her, Assistive Access (Settings > Accessibility) gives the iPhone a simpler home screen with big buttons. Worth a look together.
Small tip for Friday: if a parent keeps missing appointments, put the time AND the place in the event title. "Dr. Lee 10am, Main St" beats "Doctor" every time someone squints at a phone.
@ELPoliceDept Good reminder. One habit that helps: if a "bank" or "tech support" caller asks for anything, hang up and call back using the number on your card or statement, never the number they give you.
@RealMrGummi October golf with no league and no pressure sounds like the best kind of retirement. Walt and the dog sound like the right company for it.
Wednesday tip: if your iPhone screen feels hard to read, try Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size, then turn on Bold Text right below it. Takes 30 seconds and the whole phone gets easier on the eyes.
@kim33024@MattPetagara@MrPitbull07 One thing that helped a lot of families we know: Settings > Accessibility > Assistive Access turns the iPhone into a few big, simple buttons. Worth a try for the basics.
@ballsoha1@KelleyKga So true. Libraries and senior centers still run free phone help sessions in a lot of towns. Worth a call. Even one tip like bumping up text size in Settings > Display can make a big difference.
Monday tip: take two minutes this morning to look at the whole week. Doctor visits, birthdays, the grandkids' game. When you can see it all at a glance, nothing sneaks up on you. boomercal.com
