Prior to devolution, it seemed to me there was an argument for it, but I wonder now if Dewar knew it would empower cranks and weirdos to the extent it has and didn’t care. The Blair government’s legacy becomes increasingly appalling.

@BoycottsBat Harvie knows better than Cass. And than the experts Cass consulted. And than the experts who welcomed the review. Can someone remind me what Patrick Harvie’s qualifications are - in any branch of science?
@BoycottsBat @themajorityscot Yeah agree. Mind you I voted against the parliament and also tax raising powers as I thought the former would introduce a pointless costly additional bureaucracy and the latter would lead to detriment for tax payers vs England. I think I have been proven right on both counts 1/2
@BoycottsBat And London would be free of cranks and weirdos. Haha, good one Dale.
@BoycottsBat It was his PR idea that enabled eg. Unelected Greens now to be in government !
@BoycottsBat Some sort of powerful legislative body in Scotland is still needed, in my view. But there has to be checks and balances. I admit I have no idea how that should be delivered. Probably from Westminster, which is fine with me.
