I realise now that I have appalling Rejection Sensitivity but when I was 17, a boy I fancied said "You know, you've got quite fat upper arms for such a thin bird" and I've rarely worn anything sleeveless since. Still have upper arm paranoia. Stupid, I know.

@BradfemlyWalsh I suffer from KP. A girl in school called me “crocodile skin”, I still won’t wear short sleeves…
@BradfemlyWalsh When I was in treatment for anorexia, we had to go out to choose lunch from Tesco as part of the therapy. I was spending ages just staring at items, picking them up and putting them back, and a man came up and whispered "you'll get fat".
@BradfemlyWalsh A close family member told me I had “bad legs” when i was 14. I didn’t wear shorts or short skirts until I was well into my 30s & still struggle.
@BradfemlyWalsh When I was 14 my single parent mum had to go and care for her dying father. We got farmed out to various friends. The dad of the friend I stayed with called out to me as I was running up the stairs, ‘Still eating I see’. I couldn’t speak to mum. I just hid from him.
@BradfemlyWalsh Fat upper arms are a secondary sexual characteristic of female people. I have sizeable bingo wings, but I discovered a few years ago that if I wear a sleeveless garment, nobody dies.
