Meeting commences. Board removes Item Four ffrom the Agenda. Board approves minutes from the last meeting.
Robert Cramer, General Manager, introduces "Amendment to DTC Pension Plan to Allow Part-Time Re-Employment." He emphasizes benefit of institutional knowledge. The person who is zoomed in comments this arrangement is common among agencies. Motion to approve passes unanimously.
Next item: Authorization to Purchase Various Surplus Assets from Toronto Transit Commission, introduced by Cramer, the General Manager. Cramer notes the DTC has long had a good, close relationship with TTC from technical mutual support to late night commiseration calls.
The Toronto Transit Commission had approached the Detroit Transportation Corporation on surplus assets. The TTC is decommissioning their Scarborough RT line. In response to one Director's Q, price of brand new cars could be $8-12M, likely more due to need for customization.
