Britain could stop paying a premium to borrow that its debt levels alone cannot explain. Closing it is worth tens of billions a year, the largest fiscal prize available to any Chancellor. And it isn’t a tax rise!
Britain could run a leaner, smarter state: cutting regulation that costs more than it protects, putting proven AI to work across the civil service, fixing a planning system built to say no and ending the consultancy habit.
Britain’s problems are solvable. Not with slogans, and not by endlessly taxing more or cutting indiscriminately, but with a costed, sourced programme that belongs to no political tribe.
