@LynAldenContact Our tiny 200mil community bank has 5.2mil in unrealized losses on the bond portfolio. We are crazy liquid, so very solvent because we didn't fully load up on very low rate bonds. The Fed KNEW they were doing this to bank's bond portfolios. Crazy.

@LynAldenContact Yes, and they are now earning 1.58% overnight vs .01% a year ago. And while that doesn't sound like much, at our small bank the 50 million we have in cash is now over 60k per month.... all money that has to be printed essentially. Multiply that by every bank in the nation.
Financial cabin pressure is rising as quickly as price. In the span of human history, debt based systems have known a single destiny. When gazing across the present landscape of money, labor, and credit- the spectrum of outcomes has only one hue: debase until bust.🧵

Being a market bear is hard in this era because they are shorting assets against a unit of account (the dollar) that increases in supply by an average of 8% per year with negative real rates. It’s like measuring things with a yardstick that keeps getting shorter.
