During testing by the ATF Fire Research Laboratory, a #masstimber wall lasted 3 hours and 6 minutes before the fire self-extinguished, far exceeding the 2 hour rating building codes require. Learn more about the fire testing here: bit.ly/2zt86dz

#Masstimber buildings weigh approximately 1/5th of comparable concrete buildings. This gives mass timber buildings a high strength-to-weight ratio, enabling them to perform well during seismic activity.

With the #masstimber code proposals currently being voted on, it is important to keep in mind the rigorous testing mass timber has gone through. Testing by the ATF Fire Research Laboratory has demonstrated that mass timber can meet and even surpass fire resistance standards.
