@layer7dan Same scar. When I ask AI to "just fix it," I review the diff file by file now. It is a helper, not the product owner — I still decide what stays. Catching quiet rewrites early saves a worse night later.

@neebarp_tech Same question keeps coming back. I build small iOS tools after work — networking background, first app mid-August. Distribution is slow, but the feedback from real users is something my day job never taught me. Still early; worth it so far for the learning.

@yashkavaiya Building around a pain you felt yourself is the part that sticks. Chat tickets bounce forever when people can't show the screen. Congrats on shipping something that starts from the screenshot.

@kedarnadkarny Day 3 of a calendar streak is real. I try to keep after-work nights to one concrete next step so I don't lose a week to "where was I?" Congrats on showing up three days in a row.

@smkahh @X Building small iOS tools for parents after work. Networking background, never shipped an app before — planned May 1, landed mid-August. Distribution is still harder than the build. What about you?

@AviniLimited Day 38 on marketing is honest. I shipped my first iOS app mid-August after planning May 1 — building after work until 2–3am was the easier half. Getting anyone to find it is still the hard part. What's one channel that actually moved for you?

@nnalam50 Hard same direction. I shipped my first iOS app mid-August with a networking background and no prior app experience — building was the easier half. Finding anyone who cares is still the hard part. Glad you're starting on the marketing side.

@ameeetgaikwad Burning two-thirds of a weekly limit in two days is a real streak signal. When the tools go that fast I still slow down the next night on product judgment — speed is cheap, deciding what not to ship isn't.

@marouanegazouzi Congrats on shipping that fast — and Apple approving the same day. After-work builds usually eat weeks for me. Curious how Fold Days feels once you live with it closed vs open for a few real days.

@zizzeh On our kid's iPad I use downtime by weekday/weekend, separate limits for video apps, and a Screen Time passcode they don't know. Letting the device lock itself beats arguing over the tablet every night.

@instructplus Not sure what tripped it. X asked me to confirm I'm human in the phone app; about two days and a phone verification later I was back. Glad Zhihu kept moving in the meantime.

Day 10 of building in public. Zhihu: 586 total reads (+98 vs 10-21). One answer on an old iPad question got 69 reads day one. X locked ~2 days — still 4 followers, 676 impressions. Lesson: unlock first, then answer people who already showed up. #buildinpublic

@ananyacodesigns Rest days count as building too. Favorite unplug for me is an evening with my kindergarten kid, laptop closed — comes back clearer the next night.

@_deedev Thanks, Dee. Most of what I write comes from setting up my own kid's iPad. Appreciate the good questions today.

Day 8 of building in public. Zhihu: 488 total reads across 21 posts, +38 overnight. The two answers I posted yesterday on old iPad questions went from 1 to 11 and 12 reads on day two. X: still 4 followers. Answers keep getting found later; posts fade. #buildinpublic

@_deedev Both, really. I look for old questions close to what I'm building (kids, iPads, screen time) that still get steady traffic but only have a few answers. If I can't answer one well from my own experience, I skip it.

@buildwithpb Mine at least has an excuse: a lot of it is building after work until 2am. My kindergartener's report is all cartoons, which is somehow harder to argue with.

@MdrBwl Too real. My first app was planned for May 1 and actually shipped mid-August. The "just fixing a few things" stage is where the months quietly go. What finally made you hit publish?

@TheCsiz Congrats on shipping! Parent here too, and I get the no-ads, no-analytics call. Building for parents after work, I've learned trust is half the product. Was pay-once for the whole family an easy pricing call, or did you go back and forth on it?

@pastacavatelli Parent of a kindergartener here, and you're not wrong. What I learned: one daily total isn't enough. You need control by time of day, so the iPad simply stops at a set hour. The basic time-limit app I first paid for couldn't do that.
