Buster wants more arm injuries
@Mr_B_Roe In fact, the data strongly suggests the increased use of max-effort relievers is increasing the number of injuries, not diminishing. You know, it is possible for pitchers to do their work without throwing max effort on every pitch. Ask Adam Wainwright, Dallas Keuchel, etc.
@Buster_ESPN @Mr_B_Roe Oh, there's no good, simple answer here. The concept of limiting pitchers per game is as good/bad as any. I honestly think the closer answer is limiting the number of pitchers on the roster in general. Or, forcing managers to name their four relievers per game at the start.
@DonPerrien @Mr_B_Roe IYO. I like the idea of limiting pitchers in a game, because it would force managers to actually assess what they see in their pitchers, rather than reflexively calling for the fresh reliever, and it would likely increase offense, something the sport needs.
@Buster_ESPN @DonPerrien @Mr_B_Roe If this were to happen, the NL would need the DH, imo.
@Buster_ESPN @Mr_B_Roe The more I think about it, I like this. When the managers hand in their lineup cards, they identify the starter and four potential relievers for that game. Then, you can get rid of the three-batter rule too. It would greatly impact how games are played and how bullpens are built.
