CDC approved up to $98 million in TIF for the adaptive reuse of 135 S. LaSalle St. in the Loop. The $241 million Riverside Investment & Development, AmTrust RE and DL3 Realty project would repurpose about 532,000 square feet of upper-story space as 386 mixed-income apartments.

This is big for the #MagMile’s long term resiliency. It can’t just be happening on LaSalle. The area has welcomed many new residents in the past 20+ years. Conversions are a variation on that trend. Hopefully a public realm transformation will ensue! chicago.suntimes.com/money/2024/10/…

The area of Rogers Park bounded by Touhy, Sheridan, Columbia, and Greenwood has 53 dwelling units per acre and an average building height under 40 feet! It's the very definition of gentle density. Add the 'L' stop and proximity to the beach and it's just a killer place to live.
