"The amount of extra hours that teachers have to put in beyond the contractual time is ridiculous," one high school teacher said. "Arriving 30 minutes before and leaving an hour after is just the tip of the iceberg." cbsn.ws/3TOzxGB
@CBSNews Most salaried work isn't limited to specific contractual hours. I used to be an auditor & CPA; during audit season, we'd be working upwards of 85-100 hours a week. We didn't get paid an extra dime. And we didn't get the whole summer off either.
@CBSNews Wonder why we’re just hearing about this now? News been too busy chasing politics???
@CBSNews Make government involvement in education & tuition lending illegal at all levels of government. Only direct financial assistance (cash/voucher) at state & local levels for those who qualify should be allowed. Separation of Education & State
@CBSNews I feel so bad, must be tough having the entire summer off.
@CBSNews Salaried people typically do just that? What’s the issue?
@CBSNews Most teachers put in many extra hours AND spend their own money on needed school supplies.
@CBSNews Many great teachers have quit, gone to private schools or retired much earlier than they wanted to.
@CBSNews It has been that way for 30 years. Teachers are treated like dirt in our country.
