Realistically, that Arsenal side is a few years ahead of us in terms of development, so to have played the football we did and defended the way we did is really promising. It's obvious where we need to improve, but I'm more optimistic about the future than I was at 5.29pm

Whether you think it should have been a red for Steward or not, I think there has to be an alternative to red cards that don't ruin the game so much. As soon as a team goes down to 14, its over as a contest

I think it was a red card on balance, but I thought Peyper's 'in the current climate' was interesting. Its either a red or not - the current direction of public opinion should not matter

BTW this process stuff is nonsense in the modern game, when it's recruitment teams that sign players and its directors that set football strategy. You don't hire a coach to create a culture, you hire a coach who is good enough to execute on the club's vision.

Two things I really don't like about the system at the moment: - playing around at the back when we don't have the quality in midfield to find space for an outlet - the fluid front four - I'm all for fluid attackers but you still need a focal point

Problems: - the only option that's ever on is backwards - players aren't comfortable enough on the ball -Jorginho is shit - no physicality anywhere - we have absolutely nothing to make City think. Write this game off and try something different

I believe in the process and Potter and I like the moves Todd is making behind the scenes. But at some point we need to live the new club philosophy on the pitch. That means developing a style (not tinkering every game) and putting some faith in Hall, Webster, Hutchinson etc
