Best Coach I’ve ever known .. The Godfather of NC State athletics… At Coach Sloan’s side n 1973 &1974 for those 2 magical seasons .. mentor 4 Jimmy V, Guzzo, Tarantini, Tanner & myself . Architect of Pack baseball .. Espo was a major factor in the Wolfpack’s Golden Years ! RIP

One of the greatest things I ever witnessed from Elliott Avent had nothing to do with baseball. During COVID, when our friend and teammate Chris Combs was battling ALS in hospice, we were told we couldn’t go see him. @Elliott_Avent wouldn’t accept that. Here is the story…
