As a woman, I have always been proud of my gender and the innate strength that comes with it. I have faced numerous challenges and obstacles in my life, but I have always risen above them with determination and resilience. I am not just a woman, I am a mother, and that is a role that I hold with utmost pride and honor. Being a mother has taught me the true meaning of selflessness and unconditional love. It has shown me that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought possible.
But despite the progress that women have made in society, there are still forces that seek to diminish our importance and erase our contributions. The recent actions of the Irish government in trying to remove the word 'mother' from the constitution is a prime example of this. How dare they try to diminish the primary role that women have played in our society for centuries! How dare they try to erase the significance and value of motherhood! 
Motherhood is not just a biological function, it is a vital role in our society. Mothers are the backbone of families, the ones who nurture and raise the next generation. We are the ones who instill values, beliefs, and morals in our children. We are the ones who sacrifice our own needs and desires for the sake of our children. And yet, the Irish government wants to reduce this role to a mere 'parent.' This proposed change in the constitution is a direct attack on the fundamental role of women in our society. It sends a message that motherhood is not important, and that being a parent is interchangeable between genders. This is not only disrespectful to mothers, but also to fathers who have their own crucial role in their children's lives.
Furthermore, this change would have a detrimental impact on single mothers, same sex couples and adoptive parents. It would also disregard the importance of the biological bond between a mother and her child. This referendum in 2024 is not just about a single word, it is about the erasure of the contributions of women. It is about disregarding the importance of motherhood and the impact it has on our society. It is about reducing women to mere vessels for procreation, rather than acknowledging our strength, resilience, and capabilities.
I will not stand by and let this happen. As a proud woman and a mother, I will fight for our voices to be heard and for our role in society to be recognised and respected. I will not let the Irish government or anyone else belittle the significance of motherhood. We are more than just mothers, we are strong, capable, and powerful women who deserve to be valued and celebrated. And we will not be erased. I will use my voice and my vote to stand up for the rights of mothers , women and the traditional family structure.

What was once considered a reputable and trustworthy organisation has now been accused of being a puppet for larger, more powerful entities. The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has reaffirmed Ireland's commitment to progressing the development of an international treaty aimed at strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. HSE Interim Guidance for the Pharmacological Management of Patients with COVID-19 Ireland. This guidance is specific to the management of patients with COVID-19 disease. hse.ie/eng/about/who/… Fascinating Document. Note the unvaccinated status predominantly mentioned. Slide 8, “Remdesivir is to be given to Unvaccinated patients aged 18 years and older at risk of progression to severe COVID-19 infection not requiring supplemental oxygen”. One notable aspect of this guidance is the emphasis on the vaccination status of patients. This raises the question of why vaccination status is being used as a determining factor in treatment options. Is this a form of discrimination against those who have chosen not to be vaccinated? This is a topic of great debate and controversy, as seen in other countries such as Australia where similar guidelines have been implemented. The removal of this document also raises concerns about transparency and the need for open communication between healthcare providers and the public.
